How do you preserve what was once thought to be the preservation? With the economic downturn of the many small towns along Route 66, the memory of the souls who once inhabited these iconic lands are lost as their markers erode from time and neglect.

The Cemeteries of Route 66 is an attempt to recapture the past while recording the current present before it also fades away. There is nothing that can be done for a headstone without a name, but we can preserve the past if we care enough about the current present.

"Remember this moment, if not its story. This is a monument to the present and past; a headstone for those in the future. May its inscription never fade."
